Random Nonsensicle First Entry

Fri Jul 4, 2008, 9:11 AM
Isn't it just weird how things always seem to link together? I just looked at Google Reader to see my new RSS feeds, and the first one was something from oboeinsight (a blog) titled 'This Makes me Happy'. It seems to be 5 minute video of people dancing and possibly singing, but I don't have my sound on at the moment. Just before that I was reading how writing about 5 happy things a day may make you happier.
My sound is weird. First thing you know it is on, and then when you next start up your computer it will not work. I have checked the many ways of adjusting the sound - the speaker, the 'Media Hub', the Keyboard, the system sound... All of them are fine. Apart from I turned them up just to make sure, so now when the sound does work I am going to have the all too common occurrence of super loud sound.
Next interesting feed (skipping the expensive laptop and DVD burner) was a hoodie with added pads to make skating more safe. Seriously, don't you think we should just accept you can't through you're whole life without braking a couple of bones bruising a bit. Maybe it will catch on, but more likely not.
Next was from oboeinsight again - Happy Birthday to some oboist.
A 2cm remote control car which fits into a mini plastic football you use as the controller. Some really beautiful pictures of African animals. That kind of thing makes me happy.
A load of pictures and whether they were photoshopped or not.
And that was it. How interesting.

wow! What is your connection to bassoon? Player? Bassoons are awesome!
No problem, thanks for sharing it.

I was going to steal a signature off someone else or a website, but I decided this one was better.
I am a former basoon player, I played about seven years ago in my school band until I switched schools. The school I switched too had a zombie bassoon, it was made of an amalgam of wood and plastic pieces from the remains of about three or four bassoons and the wood pieces were all cracked. I got so frustrated I dropped out of band, and haven't played since.
Now I go to a college with a fairly decent music program, and I'm really thinking it'd be nice to learn to play again... But yeah, that's my connection to Bassoons. (Thanks for all the comments by the way)

Awesome! Next time you see the music teacher, you have to ask her. Just wondering, did you name your bassoon when you played it? Or the zombie bassoon, haha. Bassoon definitely have a lot of character. One bassoon can be horrible to play, whilst another can be wonderful. The horrible one might be wonderful for someone else to play as well, but with that description it is very unlikely for that to be the case...
(Thanks for all the comments by the way)

The basson I learned to play on was the baszoonka, and the other could simply be referred to as the Zombie Bassoon. Anywho, yeah there you go
